It's a good article. And in general it's all true. And seeing those pictures you used, you can see the dogs are uncomfortable. It seems to be more about the person than about the hugging (welcome to the internet age).

I work with dogs professionally for quite a while now and I am amazed how illiterate people are when it comes to reading their dogs.

Don't forget though, there are so many dogs with all different kinds of personalities and preferences. One of my own dogs wants to be hugged a lot. He sleeps even when it's warm under a blanket which he wraps around him. He's a tough dog. But being dumped as a pupper only a week or three old I think his behaviour stems from that.

Anyway, many dogs like him get calmer because of the gentle pressure (hug) that's applied. So there are exceptions to the rule.

I hope people will understand their dogs better. And try to think like a dog, or better think like their own dog.
